Vibration Reduction (VR) stabilization system: enables more flexible hand-held shooting. Lets you use a shutter speeds that are up to three stops slower.

Stepping (STM) motor: for super-quiet autofocus performance, which is especially handy when recording movies.

1 mount optimized optics: three aspherical lens elements ensure superior resolution and contrast.
