Terms & Conditions
1. PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS, PARTICIPATING RETAILERS, PROMOTIONAL PERIOD AND PARTICIPANTS
1.1 This promotion is only available on purchases made of any of the products listed below (the “Promotional Products”) within the United Kingdom (“UK”) or Republic of Ireland (“ROI”) from one of our listed participating retailers (“Participating Retailers” – see list below) between 1st August 2017 and 31st January 2018 inclusive (the “Promotional Period”). All other products and retailers are excluded. Purchases must be genuine purchases for cash or its equivalent.
1.2. All Participants must be aged 18 or over and must be resident in the European Economic Area or Switzerland (“EEA”) (“Participant”).
1.3. All Participants are deemed to have agreed to be bound by these terms and conditions.
1.4. Purchases of second hand, refurbished or reconditioned products, or products which are counterfeit or infringe the intellectual property rights of the Canon group of companies in any way (for example, including but not limited to parallel or “grey” products) will not qualify under this promotion. 2. HOW TO PARTICIPATE
2.1. To enter the promotion, the Participant must purchase a Promotional Product from a Participating Retailer during the Promotional Period AND submit a valid claim online between 00.00 on 1st August 2017 and midnight on 4th March 2018.
2.2. Claims must be submitted by fully and correctly completing (including specifying a valid EEA product serial number) a claim form online, at www.canon.co.uk/lenswarranty or www.canon.ie/lens warranty. Participants will need to scan, upload and attach to the online claim form a copy of their receipt, or order confirmation for internet purchases. Participants will then receive an email confirming that their claim has been received. If you do not receive a confirmation email within 24 hours of processing your claim or do not have access to a computer, please contact our Claim Hotline on 0800 044 3251.
2.3. The Promotional Products are subject to availability while stocks last. Canon will not be liable for the failure of retailers to fulfil orders of Promotional Products during the Promotional Period.
2.4. Canon will not process any claims received after the closing date for receipt of claims of midnight on 4th March 2018. Canon will not process claims which are in its opinion incomplete or illegible. Canon will not be responsible for claims delayed or not successfully received.
2.5. Only one claim per Promotional Product purchased may be made.
3. PROMOTIONAL PRODUCTS
3.1. The selected Canon products eligible under this Promotional Warranty offer (the “Promotional Products”) are shown above. Canon may include into this Promotion new models of the Products listed in this clause when they are released in the course of the Promotion. The end-date of this Promotion for the newly added products will stay as established in clause 1.1 of these Ts and Cs.
3.2. Promotional Products must be registered within 30 days of purchase to be eligible under this Promotion. To register your product, please submit your claim in accordance with the instructions below.
4. THE PROMOTER
4.1. The promoter is Canon (UK) Ltd. of Woodhatch, Reigate, Surrey, RH2 8BF.
5.1. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Canon shall not be liable for any loss, damage or injury of any nature howsoever caused, sustained by any Participant under this promotion. However, nothing in these rules shall have the effect of excluding or restricting Canon’s liability for personal injury or death caused by the proven negligence of Canon’s employees or agents.
5.2. Canon reserves the right to void, amend, and/or change this promotion at any time without incurring any liability whatsoever.
5.3. Canon reserves the right to audit any claims to ensure compliance with these terms and conditions and to request additional information and supporting documents. Canon reserves the right to exclude claims and/or Participants if it suspects that the promotion is being abused in any way. Canon’s decisions in relation to the promotion are final and no correspondence will be entered into.
6.2. If Participants do not wish for their contact information to be used for marketing purposes or to enable Canon to contact them in future regarding similar promotions, they should NOT check the relevant “opt-in” box when completing the claim form.
6.3. The personal data provided is held securely and may be transferred on a secure server outside the EEA.
7. HOW TO USE THE EXTENDED WARRANTY
7.1. Once your claim is validated, if you need to obtain the extended warranty services provided via this promotion, please contact your local Canon Support Helpdesk and be ready to:
a. Provide the model name and serial number of your lens
b. Confirm your contact details
c. Provide proof of product purchase & activated promotional warranty, as per the email confirmation sent to you following online warranty registration(s);
d. Provide a clear fault description and carry out any diagnostics as advised;
e. Comply with any reasonable instructions from the Helpdesk to allow you to receive the warranty service.
7.2 Limitations of extended warranty
The extended warranty is subject to the standard European Warranty System terms and conditions.
8. LAW AND JURISDICTION
These terms and conditions and any disputes arising out of or in connection with them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
