Leica 24 mm f3.8 Elmar-M Asph
This newly developed lens with its handy dimensions is distinguished by very high image quality and a very wide image angle - making it a particularly practical wide-angle lens. It is suitable for a very wide range of uses for everything from daytime reportage to landscape and travel photography.
Even at the initial f-stop of 3.8, contrast and detail rendering are already excellent. At the medium f-stops, the depth of field is so large that it can even reproduce entire scenes in sharp focus. That makes it excellent for use in combination with the snapshot mode of the LEICA M8.2.
Filter Size: 46mm
f/Stop Range: 3.8-16
Minimum Focus Distance: 2.3'
Angle of View: 84 Degrees
Maximum Diameter: 2.2"
Leica's lens manufacturing is designed to deliver high performance lenses that ensure the best possible picture in any given situation. To achieve this goal, in-depth knowledge of the properties of hundreds of types of glass, the effectiveness of complex coatings, precision manufacturing, and customised fine-tuning, is imperative.
It takes decades of experience to produce perfect image quality. This however is nothing less than the basic requirement when our objective is to supply photographers with equipment capable of achieving pictures of unsurpassed crisp quality, colour brilliance, fullness of detail and richness of contrast.
