Yes, the head mounts a unique plate that makes it fully compatible with the world’s most widespread standard head attachments: Manfrotto RC2 and Arca-swiss style. With this aluminium plate fixed to the camera, all Manfrotto heads and almost all tripod heads on the market featuring Arca-style attachments can be set up rapidly and effortlessly, with no need for disassembling components.
Clifton Cameras review of the Manfrotto Befree 2n1 Aluminum Tripod inc Monopod - Lever
The Manfrotto Befree series has been around a little while now and it just seems to keep improving. More often we are being asked 'Do I really need a tripod?' and our answer is Yes, espically for anyone doing landscape, macro, still life, long exposure etc. The new Befree 2n1 is close to being the perfect travel tripod, with a reasonable weight, good payload, compact, easy to use, and great build qaulity, and something you can keep in or on your kit bag all the time. They do say 'you will need a tripod most when you don't have it' so don't have this happen to you.
