Minox DTC 400 Field Camera

With the extremely flat and contoured design of the Minox DTC 400 SLIM, this wildlife camera can be mounted on nearly any tree and remain almost completely undetected. The comoflage look and mere 2.7 cm makes the DTC 400 SLIM the perfect observation camera for covert observation of wildlife or private property.

For quite some time now, wildlife cameras are being used for monitoring, recording and researching wildlife, and have become indispensable tools for the assessment and preservation of animals in their natural environments.

As with all our products, MINOX is setting milestones in the development of innovative, userfriendly and reliable wildlife cameras for use in a variety of situations. To leave a wildlife camera for days or weeks in the field, well-conceived and precisely constructed technology is a must.

It is exactly this know-how that is put into our robust and weather-resistance wildlife cameras, meeting the highest of demands.

We look after under-weight hedgehogs which need monitoring for activity and eating. The camera is excellent for this.
Nothing of any note

Easy to set up except for video, you have to work out how to set it for video(access the camera then you can set it to video) this is not obvious at first.
This camera has no sound so you miss out anything that could be interesting and it doesnt seem to work with Macs,it will tell you that the files are not supported or incompatible files which was a great disappointment.

1.Uniqiue design. Very easy to hide from the public and strap to a tree.
2 Very clear screen at the front so you can position the camera and you know what it is pointing at and will see. (Other wildlife cameras have the screen inside!)
3. Ease of loading batteries
1. No sound recording or playback! Makes it usless as a wildlife camera. Imagine no snorkeling from the hedgehog or bird song. The videos are just dead and lifeless. ( I have been using wildlife cameras for years)
2. No recording a night, Absolutly useless as this is a busy time for wildlife and I have gained my best recordings from other cameras at night. (Tested over 5 days at 23 hour periods
3. Erratic recording. 1st day 11 videos in 23 hours in a busy pond area. Next day 23 hrs the Minox filled a 32gb card, one video after another, it would not stop even though there was often nothing to record. It only stopped at dusk as it does not record in failing light or night. Next few days back to 5-6 recordings.
4. Batteries 40% exausted after 5 days
