Effective macro with good focus mechanism.
It does tend to hunt on the auto focus when close in, but since I would tend to be using manual for this work, not really an issue.

This lens replaced an old (pre-digital)Pentax 100mm Macro. Preliminary images from the new one and my K3 II indicate a great general improvement. They are sharper and I am able to fill the frame from a greater distance - a great advantage for butterfly and other insect images. It seems easier to get a well-out-of-focus background than when using the old lens.
None so far, but use has been limited.

Very good macro i.e sharp and has a pleasing bokeh with the rounded aperture blades. WR is great for outdoor shooting as well. Small & compact easy to fit in camera bag.
The only criticism I could think was, (and has been noted by a few users) is that it can hunt around to find focus. The reason is it has a big focus throw and sometimes wants to pinpoint the exact focus. It can be used in manual for more intricate work anyway so not a real problem.
