SIGMA 10-20mm f3.5 EX DC HSM

This super-wide angle lens has a maximum aperture of F3.5 throughout the entire zoom range.

With its wide angle view from 102.4 degrees it can produce striking images with exaggerated perspective. The maximum aperture of F3.5 is ideal for indoor shooting and it enables photographers to emphasize the subject. Two ELD (Extraordinary Low Dispersion) glass elements and a SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass element provide excellent correction of color aberration. Four aspherical lenses provide correction for distortion and allow compact and lightweight construction. The Super Multi-Layer coating reduces flare and ghosting. High image quality is assured throughout the entire zoom range. The incorporation of HSM (Hyper-Sonic Motor) ensures a quiet and high-speed auto focus as well as full-time manual focusing capability. This lens has a minimum focusing distance of 9.4 inches (24cm) throughout the entire zoom range and a maximum magnification ratio of 1:6.6. The lens design incorporates an inner focusing system which eliminates front lens rotation, making the lens particularly suitable for using the Petal-type hood and polarizing filter. The Petal-type hood blocks extraneous light and reduces internal reflection.

At the 10mm end, this is a wild lens, it really pushes your perspective, literally, and I have a lot of learn about using it. Tried it for Astro-photography too, very impressive at night, as well as during the day
No, you cannot fault it at the price, I though I was going to pay substantially more for this lens of this type.

It has excellent image quality and the wide angle helps you get close to subjects which normally you'd be too close to photograph.

The build quality is excellent too.
Horrendous barrel distorion at 10mm especially when you photograph things at an angle instead of head on.

Takes great photos with very little distortion. True life colours & pin sharp in the centre & beyond with only marginal softening at the edges. Focusing & zooming very smooth. All in all a great lens for landscapes, architecture & indoor photography especially the likes of churches & museums. More weighty than I imagined but not a big issue. A sturdy tripod necessary for longer exposures though. A good quality case as well. Highly recommended.

Great quality for money but a little sharper edges would be nice but what i use it for its ok.you can't have quality and budget at the same time...
Expensive lense filters because of size but i guess they need to be this size for a reason. Also the focus and zoom rings are reversed compared to standard nikon keeps catching me out but a minor problem...
