It makes downloading XQD files quicker and easier. my iMac has no suitable slot and my Nikon Z6 cable is much less convenient and uses the battery even faster.

Very fast performance
Sadly, Mac OSX is not fully compatible with the card reader when using XQD.
The consequences of this are two fold (1) the files and directories have to be copied starting from the first level (eg DCIM for Nikon) ie no root files are visible, which is where the camera settings are saved.
(2) Unlike all other CF and SD cards, XQD cards cannot therefore be imaged using hdiutil (eg hdiutil -srcdevice /dev/disk1 ~user/Desktop/cardimage.dmg
I do this with important shoots to backup eerything and to share with others the entire shoot including camer setting files etc. - this cannot be acheived with XQD cards using this reader (not Sony's fault, I understand it's lack of a driver for Apple's OSX that is at fault).
