Olympus M.Zuiko Digital ED 150-400mm F4.5 TC1.25x IS PRO

The forthcoming super telephoto from Olympus has appeared on their Lens Roadmap, but what do we know so far?

When will the 150-400mm IS Pro Lens be released?

The question on everybody's mind is perhaps the hardest of all to answer as, quite simply, we do not yet know. The lens has been shown on Olympus' roadmap and the development annoucement was made in January of 2019 but as yet, we have no official release date, rather just that Olympus are hoping to release in Winter 2020. We will keep you updated as and when we know more.

How much will the 150-400mm cost?

Once again, no information has been released regarding price. Pricing is usually one of the last details to be confirmed but we will be sure to update this page if we get any information ahead of release.

What is the expected specification of the lens?

This super telephoto will have a built in 1.25x teleconverter, making it ideal for sports and wildlife photography. As this is a Pro lens, we know what to expect; fantastic image quality, build quality you can rely and all in a lightweight and compact form. We expect the lens to be dustproof, splashproof and freezeproof. On a Micro Four Thirds body and utilising the in-built converter, the lens will reach 1000mm (35mm equivalent). It is believed the lens will be compatible with the MC-20, meaning there is potential to shoot handheld at an impressive 2000mm (35 mm equivalent) focal length!

How can I stay up to date on the details of the lens and pre order?
