A simple competition, no gimmicks, you don't have to be on Facebook, we don't insist on likes, shares or anything in return!


ABOUT & YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To enter the Competition, you must submit one high resolution jpeg photographic image, the subject of which relates to the given theme. The complete competition opens on the 13th March 2015 and closes 9th November 2015. The competition is broken in to three sections, with each section having it's own theme. The first theme is " shadow " (entry period is 13th March to midnight 25th May). The second theme is " layers " (entry period is 4th June to midnight 14th August). Subsequent themes will be announced here as the competition progresses.
  2. Entrants can submit up to 5 images in total per section of the competition. Images submitted in each section cannot be resubmitted to later sections of the competition. Should more than five entries be placed per section we will only enter the first five to be considered.
  3. Submitted images must be no larger than 10MB.
  4. Please do not submit any photographs that are obscene, vulgar, pornographic, hateful, threatening, racist, sexist, discriminatory, or which otherwise violate any local or international laws.
  5. Entrants must be 18 years of age or older to enter Clifton Cameras contest. If you are below the age of 18 you must send us written consent from your parent or guardian before you can enter the contest.
  6. You must be the copyright owner of any works submitted.
  7. Photos uploaded to the contest cannot be deleted and may remain published. (Please see usage rights below)
  8. The competition is open to UK residents only.
  9. The Competition / Prize draw is not open to employees or agencies of Clifton Cameras or Fujifilm UK, their group companies, their family members or anyone else connected to the competition / prize draw.


COPYRIGHT

  1. The photographer must be the sole author and owner of the copyright of photos entered in to the competition. Clifton Cameras respects photographers rights and does not claim copyright for images you submit to this contest, you will retain full copyright in each entry. Whenever your image is published by Clifton Cameras you will be credited. Failure to publish a credit due to error or oversight shall not be deemed a breach of this condition.
  2. You own the copyright to your Competition entry as its author. Your entry must be your own work, must not be copied, must not contain any third-party materials and/or content that you do not have permission to use, must not include any trade marks, and must not show inappropriate or dangerous behaviour, or otherwise be obscene, defamatory, distasteful, offensive, or in breach of any applicable law or regulation, or in breach of any confidentiality obligations owed by you to third parties. If Clifton Cameras has reason to believe your entry is not your own work or otherwise breaches these Terms and Conditions, then Clifton Cameras may not consider it and may disqualify it.

USAGE RIGHTS

  1. By entering this contest you agree that any images you submit may be used by Clifton Cameras solely for the purpose of this contest or future contests and no other purpose, these uses include; displaying the entries on the contest website or in our store, promotion of the contests and the photographers, cropping and re-sizing the image as necessary to fit pre-defined formats for the competition.
  2. You hereby grant Clifton Cameras a non-exclusive, irrevocable licence in each Entry for the uses described in 1. above for 1 year following the date of announcement of the winner, thereafter the image may be used for archival purposes by Clifton Cameras.
  3. You acknowledge your responsibility for protecting your entry against image misuse by third parties, by for example, but not limited to, the insertion of a watermark, retaining exif data. Clifton Cameras and its sponsors can assume no responsibility and are not liable for any image misuse.
  4. Should any image uses beyond those needed for the contest arise you will be contacted and given the opportunity to negotiate any such usage with the parties concerned independently of the contest.

JUDGING

  1. For each section of the competition our panel of judges will assess all entries and then select one image which they feel best capture the theme of that section. Our judges are photographer Matthew Hart, Fujifilm's Theo Georghiades and Clifton Cameras' Simon Taylor.
  2. Once each section has closed to entries the winners will be contacted and their entries displayed on this website and on social media.
  3. After the complete competition has closed (all three sections) an overall winner will be selected.
  4. The judges decision is final and they do not enter in to communication relating to entries, however feedback will be given on why the winner was chosen.
  5. Clifton Cameras reserves the right to discount votes if it suspects fraudulent bulk voting or multiple voting is taking or has taken place to inappropriately influence or manipulate the voting procedures.

PRIZES

  1. Although we endeavour to provide quality prizes Clifton Cameras can not warrant the quality of sponsors product/service and you agree not to hold Clifton Cameras, or it’s staff liable for any losses costs or liabilities that may arise in association with the prize(s) or sponsoring companies
  2. Details relating to any prizes will be sent to the winner via email within 7 days of the winner being announced.
  3. Each prize is non-exchangeable, non-transferable, and is not redeemable for cash or other prizes.
  4. One overall winner of each of the three sections will receive a Fujifilm X100T camera (3x X100T cameras as a total). From the three, section winners, one will be selected as the overall competition winner, this will attract a prize of a trip to Paris for a one to one photowalk with photographer Matthew Hart. The dates of the Paris trip will be arranged between the winner and Matt Hart after the prize is announced, the prize includes arranged return travel to Paris and one nights accommodation.

Selected entries will be viewable on Clifton Cameras when the contest winner is announced.
