Panasonic 30mm f2.8 Macro G ASPH MEGA OIS LUMIX Lens

Designed for close-up shooting, the Panasonic LUMIX 30mm f2.8 Macro G ASPH MEGA OIS Lens from Panasonic is a 60mm-equivalent prime lens designed for Micro Four Thirds mirrorless digital cameras. Its macro capabilities enable a minimum focusing distance of 4.1" along with a 1:1 magnification ratio for life-size imaging of nearby subjects. One aspherical element helps to control chromatic aberrations and distortions and a multi-layer coating reduces ghosting and lens flare for increased contrast and color fidelity.

In addition to the optical performance, the lens also features a MEGA Optical Image Stabilizer (O.I.S.), which compensates for the effects of camera shake for sharper hand-held shooting. A stepping AF motor and internal focusing design offer fast, smooth, and near-silent focusing performance and the rounded 7-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality when working with selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.

Product Features

Taking advantage of the life-size magnification capability and deep depth of field, this compact lens offers excellent performance in shooting from casual macro shots, like flowers or food, to impressive portraits. It features an outstanding closest focusing distance of 0.105m allowing you to shoot true-to-life macro shots of flowers or small accessories.

The inclusion of a stepping motor makes the focusing action smooth and silent for use in both photo and video recording. When mounted on the LUMIX G cameras, you can take advantage of the high-speed, high-precision Contrast AF system with a 240 fps digital signal exchange, achieving high speed AF faster than approx. 0.5 sec (infinity - 0.105m).

This is a very light and compact lens. I can compare it with my Sigma 60mm APSC lens which does the same job. As a macro lens there are still the problem of focusing on the right place and depth of field but these are generic problems
