The latest iteration of the WG series features the equivalent of IPX8 waterproofing. It's airtight construction means you can submerge the camera during operation to a depth of up to 20m - the deepest in the history of the WG series.

Designed to be taken on the most demanding outdoor activities the camera is also dustproof, cold-resistant and can withstand the pressure from the weight of up to a 100 kilogram-force.

Does the RICOH WG-6 take good photos?

Using the latest generation of back-illuminated CMOS sensors, ideal for high-sensitivity and low noise imaging, the WG-6 captures high-resolution images using 20.1 megapixels. Capture detailed, sharp and clear images with a top sensitivity of ISO 6400. Handheld Night Snap mode will automatically create a composite image of seven individual images shot in low-light to produce the best, blur-free result possible.

Shoot stable 4K UHD video footage in H.264 format with Movie SR (shake reduction) mode. 

Cover a diverse number of subjects with a 5x optical zoom lens the 35mm format equivalent of which would be a28 to 140mm focal length lens.

With a minimum focus distance of a mere 1cm and six LED Macro Lights around the circumference of the lens, you'll be able to capture fascinating close-up and macro photography.

The WG-6 has a built-in GPS Module that records position and travel log data onto captured images as well as adjusting the clock to local time. The module is easily activated with a single action and receives signals from satellites across the globe including Japan, Russia and the United States.

This camera also features an electronic level to assist with composition and USB-C connectivity.

Macro / microscope mode is brilliant, which is the reason I bought this camera - beauty clients nails / lashes etc. Outdoor photos are great, as are pics in good lighting. Darker environments aren't handled as well but still usable.
Poor lighting performance could be improved.
