The Atomos Shogun Ultra has been designed as an ultra-fast bright 7-inch screen, perfect for large productions and filming projects. Enhance your cloud workflow with the Shogun Ultra, allowing you to make full use of its collaborative workflow.
Maximised connectivity
The Atomos Shogun Ultra has been designed to support multiple avenues of connectivity including a Wi-Fi 6E and GigE connection as well as long-range wireless sync, and third-party sync with Bluetooth AirGlu BT and AirGlu RF for long-range wireless sync.
The Atomos Shogun Ultra features multiple ports including a USB-C port, 2.1mm locking jack DC input and a separate SDI Out, ideal for comprehensive cross-conversion between SDI and HDMI.
Bright screen
The Shogun Ultra has been developed with a super-bright, large 7-inch screen, with 2000 nits brightness, the screen is viewable in almost every kind of light and is perfect for checking your HDR footage on the set.
Switch between the Local and Cloud
The Shogun Ultra can be used as a conventional HDR screen thanks to its new monitoring tools and both HDMI and 12G-SDI connections. Or you can access new and productive cloud workflows when you switch on its wireless and network capabilities.
Enhance your camera
Capture RAW inputs up to 8K at 30fps, 6K at 60fps and 4K at 30fps while also simultaneously output a standard viewable video signal via HDMI or SDI for devices that don’t support RAW formats. Ideal for producing the best quality video footage across multiple devices.
Super-efficient cloud workflow
Cross-convert between HDMI and SDI and take advantage of the ultra-fast and reliable WiFi 6E for more stable connections. The Shogun Ultra can be remote-controlled over Bluetooth with the AtomRemote App, perfect for streaming, transferring and editing in the cloud.
Dual recording
The Shogun Ultra allows you to record full-quality files in ProRes RAW up to 4K 60 while simultaneously recording HD 60p to H.265. This allows you to have the ProRes RAW ready for your post-production workflow while having the H.265 copy for your camera and cloud activities.
Publish from The Cloud
The Atomos Shogun Ultra is able to record high-quality media files thanks to the new 4K camera to cloud mode which lets you record and upload much higher quality H.265 video with higher framerates. Because they are half the size of H.264 media, they are small enough for the camera to cloud work or publish immediately to social media. Because of the smaller file size, this is one of the fastest ways to get your video in front of your viewers, this service does require an Atomos Cloud Studio subscription to make full use of this feature.
Multiple Codecs
The Atomos Shogun Ultra is compatible with multiple codecs including Apple ProRes, Apple ProRes RAW, H.265 and DNx (QuickTime). Apple ProRes is pre-activated to use out of the box. Register your Shogun Ultra with Atomos to activate the H.265 and DNX codecs at my.atomos.com. Instructions should also be available to activate the Apple ProRes RAW Codecs on Atomos’s site.
NDI HD
Shogun Ultra features NDI TX, allowing you to turn your Shogun Ultra into an NDI source. This allows you to send video over ordinary networks in a high quality but with a low bandwidth requirement. This system has become increasingly used in live productions, as it allows you to share information across multiple devices in a relatively close proximity.
Maintain Orignal Camera Filenames
Atomos has worked collaboratively with ARRI, Canon, RED and Sony to allow Atomos C2C files to be matched back to the original in-camera (OCF) filenames. This allows for a more joined-up process when conforming C2C or SSD proxy files in the edit with camera files.
Adaptable For Any Set Up
The Shogun Ultra can be paired with either an SDI or HDMI connection and is able to produce equally high-quality results. This allows you to match the Atmos Shogun Ultra unit with both small and larger cameras. Enabling the Shogun Ultra to work as part of a minimal setup or with a full-size camera rig on a large-scale production.
Constructed from precision materials
Crafted for maximum durability, the Shogun monitor system has been constructed of a solid aluminium frame weighing only 360g. This precision-made system includes anti-rotational 3/8-16 mount points on both the top and bottom. Allowing you to connect the Shogun to your compact camera rig. There is a ¼-20 adaptor shipped with the Shogun monitor for easy mounting capabilities on industry-standard equipment.
Supports Live Streaming
Stream your footage to a variety of online services such as Facebook Live, Twitch, Youtube and custom RTMP/S. This can be accomplished via the Shogun Ultra’s Wi-Fi E6 and the ability to join cellular hotspots with all built-in. The Shogun Ultra lets content producers, filmmakers and streams reach their audience from anywhere.

Shogun Ultra has been designed to be a comprehensive monitoring toolbox, featuring easy-to-use tools like waveform, focus peaking, multiple false colour tools, zoom controls, custom LYTs and a frame guide.
Comprehensive Connectivity
Shogun Ultra has been designed to capture the highest-quality video from a wide range of cameras via a comprehensive range of inputs and outputs. This includes a media slot, tally light, HDMI 2.0 In/out, RJ45 Ethernet Port, 12G-SDI In/out, RF Antenna, USB-C and Wi-Fi Antennas.
Atomos AirGlu Included
Aomos Shogun Ultra features Atomos AirGlu, this system adds wireless timecode, sync and control technology, ideal when working with multiple Atomos devices or compatible cameras. This system syncs up your devices to share the same frame-accurate timecode. The Shogun Ultra unit features AIRLGlu BT and AirGlu RF for both up close and long-range sync and control protocol between Atomos connect products.
