BLACKMAGIC Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 is a must for professional filmmakers and documentary makers. Featuring a 6K, 6144 x 3456 Super 35 sensor, EF lens mount, an adjustable tilt 5” touchscreen LCD, viewfinder mount, mini XLR audio inputs and a NP-F570 style battery.

Get the “Hollywood Look”
The Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 features everything you need to produce high-quality video for feature films, television programming, documentaries, as well as for social media such as YouTube. The camera boasts a 6K (6144 x 3456), Super 35 sensor along with an EF lens mount allowing you to use a wide range of Canon EF lenses. Shooting in low-light situations is made easier thanks to the 13 stops of dynamic range combined with a dual native ISO range of 400 to 25,600. The 6K G2 is capable of shooting up to 60fps in full resolution and up to 120fps when it is windowed and can take still images up to 21.2MPs.
The camera also features an adjustable tilt 5” touchscreen LCD with 1500 nits of brightness, as well as a mini XLR audio input so that you can record with a professional microphone for the best audio possible.
Multifunctional Handgrip
The 6K G2 has been constructed from lightweight carbon fibre polycarbonate composite, and you have complete control thanks to its multifunctional handgrip and easy-access controls on the top and rear of the camera. This ergonomic handgrip hosts controls such as ISO, White Balance (WB), shutter speed and a scroll wheel for quick iris adjustments as well as recording and stills buttons. The rear panel gives you access to buttons that you can assign functions like high-frame-rate, focus zoom, false colour and more. You can also access all of the settings quickly and easily via the large LCD touchscreen.
Multiple data recording
The 6K G2 allows you to use both CFast and SD UHS-II cards and also features a USB-C expansion port, allowing you to record directly to an external hard drive at 4K or 6K when using Blackmagic RAW. This high-speed USB-C expansion port offers transfer speeds of up to 5 GB/s, giving you the option to record to large storage devices so that you can shoot at 6K, 12-bit Blackmagic RAW for longer periods without having to worry about running out of storage space. It also means that you can plug the external disk directly into your computer and start editing/colour correcting from the same disk so that you don’t have to worry about transferring files.
All the Connections You Need
The 6K G2 comes with all the connections you need for audio, monitoring and power. You can easily monitor your footage with support for HDR and clean 10-bit output thanks to the full-size HDMI connector. For audio connections the G2 features a mini XLR connection with 48-volt phantom power so that you can connect a professional microphone for the best audio possible as well as being able to use the 4 built-in mics. These offer an extremely low noise floor and are shock and wind-resistant.
Other connections include a 3.5mm input that can be used for another microphone as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack along with a built-in speaker for playback.
Optional EVF Available
The Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 is compatible with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera Pro EVF* so that shooting outdoors or in handheld situations is super easy and efficient. The Pro EVF features a high-quality 1280 x 960 OLED display with brilliantly bright colours and also features a built-in proximity sensor, 4-element glass diopter for superb accuracy, and focus adjustment from -4 to +4. The Pocket Cinema Pro EVF allows you to view critical data and status information such as frame guides and it also has a built-in digital focus chart.

Multiple Power Options
The 6K G2 is powered by NP-F570 batteries but also features a locking DC power connector so you won't have to worry about losing power during a shoot. Also included is an AC plug pack allowing you to power the camera and charge the battery simultaneously. You can even use the USB-C expansion port to trickle charge the battery, so you can use portable battery packs, mobile phone chargers or laptops.
There is also a Blackmagic Pocket Camera Battery Pro Grip* available that lets you add extra batteries to dramatically extend the power of the camera so you can keep shooting all day.

Outstanding colours
The 6K G2 produces stunning image quality, accurate skin tones and faithful colour reproduction. This is thanks to the same generation, 5 colour science that is featured in the URSA Mini Pro 12K. You get a new dynamic 12-bit gamma curve designed to capture more colour data in the highlights and shadows, for better-looking images.
Custom 3D LUTS
The camera preserves dynamic range by shooting in a logarithmic colour space. This is fantastic for post-production but not so good when you want to monitor the footage live. This can be resolved quite simply by using 3D LUTs. These can be applied to the monitor to give you an idea of how the footage will look after processing. You can also record them into the Blackmagic RAW file so that you can use them in post-production.
The 6K features built-in LUTs such as Extended Video, Film to Video, Film to REC.2020 and works with industry-standard 17 and 33-point 3D LUT files.
Timecode Generator
The Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 6K G2 features a built-in timecode generator so that you can shoot with multiple cameras while keeping perfect sync. You would need to plug an external timecode generator into the 3.5mm audio jack to do this. The camera will then automatically detect the timecode and lock the internal generator. You can then stop and start each camera and they will all have the exact same timecode.
Davinci Resolve Studio* will automatically find and sync the shots from all of the cameras so that you don’t need to spend hours doing it manually.

Control wirelessly
You can control the camera when it is mounted on a boom pole, or other hard-to-reach locations via Bluetooth from up to 30 feet away. Simply download the Blackmagic Camera Control app onto your Apple or Android device so that you can control your camera from a distance.
Davinci Resolve Studio
The 6K G2 comes with an activation code for a full version of Davinci Resolve Studio. This is a professional video editing software that is used by many in Hollywood to edit high-end feature films, television shows, commercials and more.

Can you use the 6K G2 as a live studio camera?
Yes. The Blackmagic 6K G2 can be used as a studio camera when it is paired with an ATEM Mini*.

Can the 6K G2 take still images?
The 6K G2 can take high-res still images of up to 21.2MP and are saved as fully uncompressed DNG frames for maximum image quality.
What resolutions and frame rates can I shoot at?
You can shoot stills at 21.2 megapixels and will shoot up to 50 fps at 6144 x 3456 16:9 or 60 fps at 6144 x 2560 2.4:1 and 60 fps at 5744 x 3024 17:9. For higher frame rates you can window the sensor and shoot up to 120 fps at 2.8K 2868 x 1512 17:9. You can even work in true anamorphic 6:5 using anamorphic lenses in 3.7K 60 fps at 3728 x 3104. On the 4K model, you can shoot up to 60 fps 4K DCI at 4096 x 2160 and 60 fps in Ultra HD at 3840 x 2160. You can even shoot 120 fps in 1080HD.
What File Formats does the 6k G2 Use?
The 6K G2 records use standard open file formats so you don’t have to waste time transcoding media. Files are compatible with all post-production software so you can work with the software of your choice, or use the included DaVinci Resolve Studio. Recording works in industry-standard 10-bit Apple ProRes files in all formats up to 4K or 12-bit Blackmagic RAW in all formats up to 6K. Blackmagic RAW is the fastest-growing RAW format. Developers can download and use the free Blackmagic RAW SDK to add support to their applications. Best of all media files work on all operating systems plus you can format media cards and disks in HFS+ for Mac and ExFAT for Windows.
