The SX70 has an excellent zoom range and has the usual intuitive Canon menu system and ergonomics. Build quality is OK for a camera of this type and price point.
As expected from a budget bridge camera with a small sensor the details within an image can be smudged and blotchy. It is usual for a photographer to work on the RAW image to improve the quality. However, despite being advertised as giving both JPEG and RAW files the RAW output from the SX70 can not be read by any post processing software INCLUDING Canon tools! Unbelievable!
