Super compact, super-telephoto reach with the Canon RF 600mm F11 IS STM Lens
A new member to the Canon RF lens line-up, the RF 600mm lens is a super-telephoto lens with an outstanding 5-stop image stabilisation that is primarily suited for the enthusiast wildlife photographer. It’s a compact size for a telephoto zoom lens and is perfect for the travel photographer to transport safely on your next holiday or even on a safari trip! Designed and manufactured specifically for the Canon full-frame mirrorless range of cameras.
Super-lightweight with super-zoom
Staying true to the portability of the full-frame mirrorless camera ethos, the RF 600mm weighs in at just 930g and when contracted for storage, is just 199.5mm in length. This compact size and light weight is down to an RF lens mount and revolutionary Diffractive Optics (DO).
Canon was the first to commercialise DO technology by developing its own unique structure. Through this technology, it’s possible to make the lens incredibly compact and lightweight whilst still being able to control chromatic aberration. Combine these technological advances with the benefit of the wider RF mount, including faster communications speeds and superior optical quality, you have a portable and affordable super-telephoto zoom lens that can accompany you on your adventures.
A compact travel partner
Handheld made easy
As part of a new breed of Canon RF lenses, the 600mm provides 5-stop image stabilisation which can be boosted to an industry-leading 8-stop advantage when paired with the new Canon EOS R5 mirrorless camera, you can be safe in the knowledge that you’ll be able to capture tack-sharp, high-quality telephoto images without the need for a tripod.
Convenient and quiet
Unlike the beastly size of the Canon EF 600mm F4L lens, the RF 600mm F11 conveniently contracts and expands for use and storage. Pair it with the Canon RF 1.4x and 2.0x extenders to put the 600mm’s focal length up to 1200mm.
An STM motor allows the lens to focus with a smooth precision that’s almost silent, meaning you won’t be disturbing your subject whilst taking photos.
The bladeless F11 aperture provides an exceptional bokeh whilst being able to work sufficiently in bright light and outdoors. Its intuitive Lens Control ring provides finite adjustments when dialing in your settings such as the shutter, exposure compensation and ISO settings.
Who is the RF 600mm F11 for?
The 600mm comes in handy for those looking for something with a bit more reach than perhaps a classic and sought after Canon RF 70-200mm F/4L. At such an exceptional price point for a telephoto zoom lens, the 600mm provides a portable and lightweight option for the enthusiast or hobbyist wildlife, birding or even trainspotting photographer.
The Canon RF 600mm F11 Lens with the Canon R6 Mirrorless Camera. The perfect partnership.
