Celestron Eyepiece and Filter Kit - 1.25"
This eyepiece and filter kit contains five superior grade Plossl eyepieces, one 2x Barlow lens and seven filters all to add a new life to your telescope and observing. The 2x Barlow lens included even doubles the number of eyepieces you effectively have, turning this kit into a massive ten eyepieces for the price of five.
Eyepieces
This kit contains five Plossl eyepieces constructed out of high-quality glass elements. All five eyepieces are multi-coated to improve light transmission and can be used on any telescope with a 1.25” focuser giving an apparent field of view of 52-degrees. The 32mm Plossl eyepiece has a relatively low magnification and provides a wide field of view. The 13mm and 17mm focal lengths are good medium-power oculars, and the 8mm and 6mm eyepieces have high magnifications which are ideal for the Moon and other planets.
2x Barlow Lens
Use the 2x Barlow Lens to double the magnification of the eyepieces. This process further doubles the effective number of eyepieces in your kit from five to ten. The included Barlow lens also has a T-Thread machined in to allow for a DSLR camera can be mounted to the telescope with the addition of a T-Ring.
Filters
Use the coloured filters to bring out further details on the planet’s surface or within the cloud structure, the kit contains a filter for all observation eventualities. Included in this kit is a #80A Blue, #58 Green, #56 Light Green, #25 Red, #21 Orange, #12 Yellow and a Moon Filter. All the filters fit a 1.25” eyepiece and are double-threaded for colour-stacking.
Use#56 Blue to enhance the contrast of cloud belts on Jupiter and the polar ice caps of Saturn. The #58 Green and #56 Light Green filters increase the contrast of Mar’s polar ice caps, yellow-tinted Martian dust storms and the cloud patterns on Venus. #25 Red filters sharply define the contrast between Jupiter’s blue-tinted cloud formations and the lighter-toned surface features, as well as showing interesting detail in the Venusian atmosphere. Use the #21 Orange filter on Jupiter and Saturn to enhance detail in their belts, polar regions and to bring out the Great Red Spot. The #12 Yellow filter darkens the Maria on Mars and improves the details in Uranus and Neptune, and the low-contrast features on Venus. It will also enhance the definition of comet tails.
Moon Filter
The Moon Filter is ideal for viewing our closest planet thanks to it reducing the brightness of the planet’s surface. The filter brings out more detail on the Moon’s surface and improved contrast shows details such as craters, mountain ranges, seas and valleys.
Metal Case
Keep the kit safe inside the foam-lined carry case. The die-cut foam protects and cushions all the accessories and is precision cut to perfectly fit every piece. Keeping the lenses and filters looking and performing like new. The case is also large enough for a few extra accessories such as an eyepiece or camera adapter. Simply pull out enough of the foam cubes to make a nest and fit the piece inside.

What is a Plossl Eyepiece?
A Plossl eyepiece is constructed out of at least four high-quality optical elements arranged symmetrically. They offer a large apparent field of view of at least 50-degrees and have a relatively long FOV. Their eye relief can be restricted, particularly for glasses wearers, in focal lengths shorter than 10mm. The addition of a Barlow lens to eyepieces over 10mm can offer the same magnification with more comfortable eye relief.

Why are filters important?
Filters help our eyes to relax when looking at a bright planet through a telescope. Just as we often wear sunglasses on a bright day to help relax our eyes from the glare, filters do the same and make the viewing experience much more comfortable and let you see extra details on the planet surface.
