Celestron Lunar and Planetary Filter Set - 1.25"

Use this coloured filter set to bring out extra details on a planet’s surface. Included in the set is a #12 Deep Yellow, #21 Orange, #80A Light Blue and an #ND-96-0.3 Natural Density filter. These versatile filters will fit any 1.25” eyepiece, simply screw onto the eyepiece and slide it into the focuser.

#12 Deep Yellow

A good all-purpose filter for telescopes with an aperture less than 4.5”. The Deep Yellow will improve the contrast features on the Moon as well as see equatorial belts on Jupiter and Saturn, clouds and the polar ice caps on Mars, and the dusky details on Uranus and Neptune.

#21 Orange

The Orange filter sharpens boundaries along the plains of Mars by reducing blue and green light transmissions. This filter can also be used on Jupiter and Saturn to enhance detail in the belts and polar regions.

#80A Blue

Enhance the contrast of cloud belts on Jupiter and polar ice caps on Saturn with the #80A Blue. This can also be used to increase the contrast on the Moon however there will be a colour shift.

#ND-96-0.3 Neutral Density

This is a great filter for the Moon and for stacking with other planetary filters to increase density without colour shifts. The Neutral Density filter can be used anytime you wish to decrease brightness but maintain the colour characteristics of an object. It can also be useful when splitting binary star systems also known as double stars.

Filter Stacking

Each Celestron 1.25” filter has a clear aperture of 26mm and is mounted in a black anodized aluminium cell that is threaded on both sides to allow for filter stacking. Filter stacking lets you create custom colours of affect the transmission percentage. All the filters are also specially coated on both sides to protect against reflections, ghosting and scratches.
