Celestron Universal T-Adapter – 1.25”

This Celestron Universal T-Adapter 1.25” is an essential piece of kit for connecting a DSLR or SLR camera body to a telescope with a 1.25” focuser or eyepiece adapter installed, opening up the world of digiscoping and astrophotography. 


How to mount

The T-Threads on the top of the Universal T-Adapter screw into a T-Ring (sold separately). The barrel end of the T-Adapter slides into the focuser and locks into place with the adapter thumbscrew. Once this is done you are fully set up and ready to go. 

Please note that a T-Ring (sold separately) is also required to mount a camera to the telescope.

FAQs

Why do I need a T-Ring too?

The T-Adapter is the mechanism that goes into the telescope, it requires a T-Ring to attach to a camera. The T-Ring is specific to the camera make, the T-Adapter is specific to the scope or telescope. Together they allow the camera to properly mount onto a telescope and take images.

Can this be used by a Fast Refractor or Newtonian telescope?

Some telescopes, especially “fast” refractors and most Newtonians may not have enough focus travel to allow the camera to focus. In these instances, we recommend using a Celestron Universal Barlow & T-Adapter which will double the magnification and allow the telescope to properly focus. 

What is digiscoping?

Digiscoping is where a camera is attached to a telescope or spotting scope and uses the scope as a telephoto lens. In the world of telescopes, this opens up the night sky to lunar and planetary photography.
