The Lowepro Flipside Backpack 400 AW III takes the successes of its predecessor and now comes with a host of improvements to improve the comfort and usability of this camera gear backpack. All-weather protection keeps equipment safe, a side-access pocket allows for quick lens changes and the large flipside main compartment is now easier to access.
20L Flipside Access
The backpack has a large 20L storage capacity accessible by laying the bag on its front. The entire compartment can be viewed and organised to suit your needs fitting approximately one DSLR with 70-200mm Pro lens plus 4-5 additional lenses or a compact drone. The 400AW III is also deep enough to fit larger photographic items such as a portrait grip for a full-frame DSLR.
All-weather
Lowepro’s most popular camera backpack has been designed for the outdoors and now features robust and durable 900D polyester material to protect against all weather types. The front of the bag has a PU coating making it extra durable against the elements, moisture and abrasion. An All Weather AW Cover protects gear from rain, snow, dust and sand and is quick to secure over the bag.
Front organiser pocket
A front organiser pocket features further inner pockets for holding smaller items such as a phone, notebook, keys, and wallet. A key tether also keeps keys secure whilst on a shoot. To protect the contents when accessing the main flipside pocket this front compartment has been upgraded with thicker PU padding and moulded EVA bumpers.
Dedicated laptop and tablet sleeves
The 400 AW III comes with individual laptop and tablet sleeves. The padded laptop sleeve can hold up to a 15” laptop and the tablet sleeve can hold up to a 12.9” tablet. A further zipped mesh compartment sits in front of these pockets for further storage.
Upgraded 10mm YKK Zipper
The bag is secured with an upgraded 10mm YKK Zipper for a smoother path and durable zip.
Dividers Included
Complete with a selection of moulded EVA dividers to separate the space and protect gear. Small orange pocketed dividers can hold small accessories such as cables or lens caps. Slightly larger segmented dividers better fit around lenses and also expand/contract to connect to other dividers. The largest EVA dividers can fit the width of the bag to separate the entire space and are pre-hinged to give more dividing space.
Removable pocket
An interior pocket is perfect for holding accessories such as memory cards, batteries, filters and cables. It can be removed if necessary or secured in place via Velcro. New to the AW III, this pocket now has a mesh front to view its contents better.
Padded top handle
Complete with a thick padded top handle for easy carry, and a back handle for manoeuvring the bag into the flipside position, the bag is designed for ease of use.
Stretchy side pocket
A stretchy side pocket can fit a water bottle and the canning strap can further hold a tripod in place within the pocket.
Small side-access
Quick access to equipment is possible thanks to the side-access zipper. Ideal for taking out the camera and getting that shot or quickly changing a lens.
Improved ergonomic fit
Ergonomically designed shoulder straps are contoured for a better fit. Included with the bag are sternum straps that can be adjusted and locked at a comfortable height to best fit across the chest. Mesh raised pads further make the backpack more comfortable to carry.
Harness padded waist belt
To help carry the extra weight of a 20L capacity backpack, the 400 AW III straps have a padded harness waist belt to spread the weight and make carrying the bag more comfortable.
