The Nikon Forestry Pro II Rangefinder was designed to measure the height of trees. It's able to log up to 250 measurements. These can be taken with either actual distance, horizontal distance, height, angle and vertical separation (difference in height between two targets), and three-point measurement (height between two points). The angular measurement range is ±89°.
You can then review your measurements through the eyepiece or on the digital the side panel. The side panel displays with or without 3 levels of backlight for easy viewing.
The distance measurements can be taken by using either First Target or Distant Target modes. These depend on whether the tree is in front of or behind other trees. The Forestry Pro II has a range of 8 to 1750 yards and can also measure in feet or meters. The 6x21 optics are waterproof and fog proof up to 3.3' for 10 minutes, but the battery compartment is only rainproof.
