The HD DFA 100mm Macro f2.8 ED AW lens incorporates a new optical design to optimise image resolution and contrast even at open aperture. The lens produces clear, high-quality images and is the first PENTAX macro lens to feature dustproof, weather-resistant AW (All Weather) construction.
Design and Build
The HD DFA 100mm Macro f2.8 ED AW is incredibly compact and lightweight weighing in at 387g (including lens hood) and measuring just 80.5mm in length. The lens is constructed of 10 elements in 8 groups, including one ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass optical element and two Anomalous Dispersion glass optical elements to compensate for various aberrations and minimise unwanted purple fringing in the image. The lens features a high-grade, multi-layer HD (High Definition) Coating that assures higher light transmittance with minimal reflectance, minimising flare and ghosting even in tricky lighting scenarios.

The HD DFA 100mm Macro f2.8 ED AW has a minimum focusing distance of just 13cm (at life-size magnification) allowing you to shoot subjects close up. This is particularly useful for capturing images of insects and flowers.
Weather-resistant
The lens features a dustproof, weather-resistant AW (All Weather) construction which is a first for a Pentax macro lens. This airtight weather- resistance means that the lens is protected against sudden rain, mist and at splash-prone locations.
Focus Performance
The lens incorporates QFS/A (Quick-Shift Focus System) for an instant shift to manual-focus mode without any focus mode switching operation after the subject is captured in focus by the camera’s autofocus system.
Beautiful Bokeh
The lens features an eight-bladed circular diaphragm to produce beautiful bokeh and light beams from open aperture to F5.6, while minimising the streaking effect of point light sources.
Individual Serial Number
Both the black and silver editions of this lens have been assigned individual serial numbers. The black models start at 0000001, while the silver modes start at 1000001.
