Samyang have introduced their brand new telephoto prime lens, the Samyang AF 75mm f1.8 FE Lens. Designed and built specifically for Sony full-frame mirrorless cameras and Sony APS-C cameras. Aimed at the classic portrait photographer that’s also looking for a lens that offers impeccable image quality in a lightweight and compact body.
The ideal partner for the compact Sony system
The new Samyang AF 75mm f/1.8 is the perfect creative tool for the Sony E-mount cameras. Samyang have done their research into the most suitable compact lens for incredible portraits and the 75mm is still a classic and solid choice. Samyang are the first brand to bring this focal length back into the mix for the full-frame system. This length effectively isolates the subject creating a brilliant depth of field.
Surprisingly small
We know the full-frame mirrorless system is compact so we want our lenses to match this trend. This is where the new 75mm f1.8 from Samyang fits the bill. Weighing in at just 230g and 69mmin height, this light lens maximises portability and usability.
Samyang’s typical design and build
A complete optical design that produces beautiful bokeh and an incredible depth of field. The super-fast f1.8 aperture means that this lens is suited to both indoor and outdoor locations, enabling the photographer to work in both low-light situations, studio set-ups and out in the real world.
Magnificent manufacturing
To create the high contrast and sharp images Samyang have created this lens with a total of 10 elements in 9 groups. Chromatic aberration is controlled through three extra low-dispersion lenses (ED) with achromat and high-refractive lenses (HR). In addition, the UMC coating is applied to minimise unnecessary internal refractions, resulting in the renowned Samyang clear, high contrast sharp images.
Advanced Auto Focus System
Not just for portrait photographers, Samyang have also designed the lens to be suitable for videographer or hybrid shooter too. The lens utilises a brand new stepping motor (STM) for fast, quiet and accruate focusing. Aiding the user to capture cherished moments effortlessly.
New Custom Switch
Typically the focus adjustment ring would have no function when using the lens in AF mode, however, Samyang have introduced the Custom Switch which allows the user to adjust the aperture via the focus ring. This can be further customised with future firmware updates using Samyang’s optional USB Lens Station.
