High tech digital signal processing allows 3 options for directivity patterns. This makes for a diverse microphone that works in super, uni and omnidirectional modes.
High directivity from a compact microphone
A total of 8 advanced microphones are combined with a new beamforming algorithm. This gives sharp directivity which will eradicate any off-axis sounds. Pretty impressive for a microphone that's just over 9cm long.
Low noise and clear sound
You can connect the ECM-B1M to the Multi-Interface Shoe on a compatible camera with a digital audio interface. This directly transfers the audio signals to your camera in a digital format. This stops any degradation. A switch makes the microphone also compatible with a wide range of analogue interfaces on other cameras.
Mechanical suppression
Advanced shock and vibration suppression are at the centre of the design. The microphone will minimise any low-frequency. It will handle any noise which degrades audio quality. By removing any connecting cables from the equation, any mechanical noise from cables and connectors is avoided.
Clear sound filtering
Subsonic noises are cut out with a low-cut filter. This works through digital signal processing. It maximises the quality of your audio during recording, reducing the need for post-process work.
No cables
With a Multi-Interface Shoe on a compatible camera, power and audio can be connected immediately. This means there are no cables or batteries to faff around with. Great for α system shooting.
Fur Windscreen Included
The ECM-B1M comes with a specially designed fur windscreen to reduce wind noise.
Essential controls
