Designed for solo shooting, the Sony FX3 Cinema Line Camera records incredible 4K full-frame quality at up to 120p, with minimal rolling shutter. Fast and accurate autofocus technology, including Real-Time Eye Autofocus, Real-Time Touch Tracking and customisable AF tracking sensitivity; the Sony FX3 is the most compact Cinema Line camera designed for ultimate in cinematic expression.
Design and Build
The lightweight and compact full-frame camera has been designed for handheld shooting. The 715g body design is made from magnesium, allowing for excellent heat dissipation for uninterrupted 4K 60p recording.
Performance and Technology
The 4K full-frame back-illuminated CMOS Exmor R sensor and new Bionz XR processor provide a 15+ stop dynamic range and have an ISO that’s expandable to 409600, so the FX3 works seamlessly in low-light conditions.
Designed for the professional workflow, 16-bit RAW, S-Log3 and S-Cinetone are inspired by VENICE colourimetry and provide videographers with endless creativity when editing in post.
Video Capability
With the FX3, Sony has combined fast Hybrid Autofocus, Real-time Eye AF, Touch-tracking Autofocus and customisable Autofocus sensitivity, so you can perfect the focus and framing of your shot.
5-axis in-body image stabilisation with Active Mode makes the FX3 ideal for hand-held shooting. The FX3 includes a detachable top handle with XLR inputs for microphones or other audio connections.
Solo shooting
The Sony FX-3 is built for solo filmmakers, with its lightweight construction and stabilising features, you can shoot anywhere at any angle. Customisable tracking and autofocus modes ensure you get a crisp image, even without a gimbal, allowing you to focus on setting up the perfect shot.

2025 Product Update
In 2025, the Sony FX3 received an update to become the FX3A. Changes include:
- LCD panel upgraded from 1.44M dots to 2.36M dots
- Removal of Infrared remote control light receiving element
- Removal of NFC module
- Charger upgraded to new BC-ZD1
- No Power Cord or USB-C cable included
- Increased power consumption to approx. 570 shots (vs. 580 shots before)
