Brave The Elements
The Steiner Commander 7x50c binoculars feature a Polycarbonate housing that has been reinforced with high-tech fibres making it incredibly durable while remaining ultra-light. The binoculars have a non-slip, NBR Longlife rubber armouring for shock absorption and to keep the optics resistant to oil, acid and salt water. A floating prism bearing keeps the optical components protected against shocks and any adjustment remains unchanged.
Diamond Marine Coating
The 7x50c has been given a Diamond Marine Coating. This ensures that glare is reduced while clarity and light transmission are maximised for exceptional sharpness and contrast.
Fail-Safe Navigation. Even At Night.
The Commander 7x50c comes equipped with an integrated compass with a diameter of 40mm. This allows for easy navigation even at night thanks to its illumination function.

The 7x50c features an open-bridge system so that it can be operated easily with just one hand.
Tailored To You
Another great feature of the 7x50c is the intelligent memory eyepiece. This allows you to mark an individual focus point and store it for later in case you accidentally move it. Simply turn them and you can return to your selected focus point in a fraction of a second. You can also choose between three variants;
- Ergonomic (maximum reduction of disturbing stray light and prevention of draughts)
- Cylindrical (typical everyday situations)
- Folded down (full field of view for spectacle wearers)
Always Sharp
Maximum image sharpness is assured thanks to the auto-focus feature that works from 20 metres to infinity. This works by simply setting both adjustment rings to "O" and you will always see in focus whether at varying distances or in the twilight. This can even be done one-handed.
Weather Sealed
The 7x50c has been coated with the STEINER Nano-Protection®, to protect against harsh weather conditions. The coating ensures that nothing will stick to the lens including salt water.
Nitrogen Pressure Filled
The binoculars have the same legendary ruggedness as all Steiner models and are nitrogen pressure-filled, to help prevent fogging and condensation, as well as being waterproof up to 10 metres. They can even withstand extreme temperature fluctuations from -40°C to +80 °C.
Precisely Measurable Distance
The Steiner Commander 7x50c Open Bridge Marine Binoculars are equipped with an integrated precision reticle so that you can estimate the distance of an object. This is an invaluable tool when out at sea as this combined with the illuminated night function of the compass gives you a fail-safe navigation system in case the electronics on board should let you down.

Can you give an example of how a measurement is calculated with the integrated precision reticle?
A 10 m high boat crosses your course. On the number scale of the reticle, you read the value 20. The distance to be calculated results from the actual size, in our example 10 m, divided by the read size, in our example 20, times 1000. 10 m / 20 = 0.5 m x 1000 = 500 m. The ship is therefore 500 m away.
