Tamron has designed its 17-50mm f4 Di III VXD lens with a versatile zoom range, featuring it’s ultra-wide 17mm allowing for more dynamic landscape images all the way up to 50mm which has a number of applications including portrait, street and travel photography. This lens’s versatility allows you to capture a number of different situations perfectly without swapping out your lens.
Excellent Close Range Shooting
This lens has an impressive minimum object distance (MOD) between 0.19m (7.5”) at the wide end and 0.3m (11.8”) at the tele end. This focusing distance enables you to get incredibly close to your subject and still maintain an excellent amount of sharpness.
Constant F4
The Tamron 17-50 F/4 Di III VXD features a constant f4 aperture throughout its entire focal length, this consistency makes it ideal for both still images and video shooting. The fixed barrel length and internal mechanism also allow you to maintain framing while shooting images and video.
Lens Construction
The 17-50mm consists of 15 elements in 13 groups, including three low dispersion, one glass moulded aspherical and two hybrid aspherical elements. This combination of elements effectively suppresses chromatic aberrations.
Moisture Resistant Construction
The lens has been created with a fluorine coating on the front and rear lens surfaces and has a moisture-resistant construction. This combination provides durability in natural environments.
