The Tamron 70-300mm f4.5-6.3 Di III RXD is a telephoto zoom lens that has been designed specifically for Sony full-frame E-Mount mirrorless cameras and can be used by photographers of all skill levels to produce high-quality images.
Worlds smallest and lightest* telephoto zoom lens
The lens is extremely compact and lightweight weighing in at just 545g and measuring only148mm long with a maximum diameter of 77mm. It benefits from a moisture-resistant construction so that it can be used in harsher weather conditions and a fluorine coating has also been applied to the front lens element to protect against dust, dirt, and smearing. A handy zoom Lock switch keeps the lens in its retracted position when not in use.

This lens is extremely versatile for landscapes, sports and wildlife, thanks to its 70-300mm focal length, but it is also a great lens to use for portraits, casual snapshots and scenarios that require you to be mobile and shoot handheld, like sporting events.
Quality from edge to edge
Although covering a wide range of focal lengths, Tamron has taken an uncompromising approach to optical performance. Low Dispersion (LD) and Extra-Low Dispersion (XLD) lens elements mean that chromatic aberrations are minimal whilst making it possible to achieve superb high-quality images from edge to edge. A series of specialised elements control a variety of aberrations in order to achieve high sharpness and clarity. The optical design incorporates 15 elements in 10 groups.
The 300mm end, which receives particularly frequent use in a telephoto zoom, provides excellent high-resolution performance from the centre of the image all the way to the corners.
Buttery Bokeh
The sought after soft and rounded background blur in many a portrait photo can be achieved easily thanks to the rounded seven-blade diaphragm in this lens.
Superb AF keeps it sharp and quiet
The AF drive incorporates an RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor unit. RXD uses an actuator that is able to precisely control the rotational angle of the motor, allowing it to drive the focusing lens without passing through a reduction gear.
The addition of a sensor that detects the position of the lens to a high degree of accuracy enables high-speed and precise AF, which allows you to maintain razor-sharp focus when shooting continually moving subjects or filming video. The lens is also remarkably quiet, eliminating concerns of drive sounds being picked up while shooting video.
