Key Features of the Used Lee Filters LEE100 Filter Holder
It has been over 25 years since LEE Filters launched the 100mm System with the Foundation Kit. For a product to run for this length of time is very rare in the photography world and is known as the standard filter system holder all others are compared to.
You may ask 'Why update something that works?'. Well, LEE Filters has been painstakingly working on ways to improve something that has worked for so long, using their experience and listening to their customers. The LEE100 Holder was born and it has brought a whole new standard to filter holders.

What is different with the new LEE100 Holder?
LEE has brought new features and improved the useability of what was already the standard in filter holders. The new holder has been precision-engineered from injection-moulded composite materials making it more sturdy, rigid and durable along with being 16% lighter than its predecessor.
The two main standout features for us are the new spring release and locking ring along with the guide blocks.
So what has changed with the LEE100 Holder adapter ring release?
The previous holder had a simple and easy-to-use system but it didn't have a locking feature, meaning the ring could come loose. The new LEE100 holder has a better spring release system with two locking features. Turn the blue ring one way and you lock the spring but can still rotate the holder on the lens, great for aligning ND Grad filters. Turn it the other way and you lock the spring and rotation, perfect for locking the rotation with ND Grads and when using a polarising filter.
Have they improved the adding and removing of the filter guide blocks?
If you have experience with the original holder you will be fully aware of how it was to add or remove the filter guide blocks. If not, just mentioning having to use a screwdriver will give you some idea of the pain it caused.
Well LEE Filters have removed any need for a screwdriver with the updated holder. Now all you need is a simple tool to add the block set for 1, 2, or 3 filter guide blocks and it takes less than a minute to change.
