What does PF mean?
PF, or Phase Fresnel, is a lens element introduced into the lenses to significantly reduced the size and weight of the lens, making hand-held super-telephoto photography easy and enjoyable.
What's the optical performance like?
This lens has three ED glass elements alongside the one PF element to give extremely sharp and detailed rendering that is compatible with high pixel-count digital cameras. A Nano Crystal Coat to help with ghost and flare suppression enabling clear images to be achieved.
Does it have fast AF?
Yes, AF speed has been increased by making the lens elements in the focusing group lighter
Is this a durable lens?
This lens has been designed with durability in mind. It has dust and drip-resistant construction and a special fluorine coating that effectively repels dust, water droplets, grease, and dirt. This makes it one tough lens!
Is it compatible with teleconverters?
To increase the focal length, but not compromise the image performance, the lens is compatible with the TC-14E III AF-S Teleconverter.
