Used for a variety of applications

The ColorChecker classic while being an important tool to both film and digital photographers, can also be used by a number of other creative industries to ensure accurate colour. For example, it can be used by a graphic artist to check any printing or proofing process or by filmmakers for colour grading and checking cameras and lights. Ideal for creating custom camera profiles

The ColorChecker target itself is ideal for creating custom camera profiles in either DNG or ICC formats. These can be used to correct neutral balance and exposure, providing you with a standard for colour corrections.

True colour balance

Use the ColorChecker Classic to determine the true colour balance of any colour rendition system. The non-subjective colour standards provide you with an accurate starting point for comparing, measuring and analysing differences in colour reproduction.

24 Scientifically formulated colours

ColorChecker’s 24 scientifically formulated colours have been combined in their classic colour checker. This colour checker has been amongst the leading industry standard for over 40 years.

Each solid patch is formulated individually

In order to produce a pure, flat and rich colour checker, each solid patch has been formulated individually. With each of the 24 colours representing the actual colour of natural objects, they reflect light much in the same way as the object in the real world. Therefore the patches will match the colours of the representative samples of natural objects under any illumination.

Ideal for colour perfectionists

A must-have tool for any photographer or film-maker looking to achieve accurate colour, but especially ideal for colour perfectionists. The introduction of the ColorChecker classic allows for far more creative control and accurate colour grading. Thanks to the ability to create custom DNG profiles or to build custom ICC camera profiles.

Make global corrections based on accurate information

Making alterations to a batch of photos based on the edits from a few key photos can sometimes result in changes in colours you didn't intend to change. The ColorChecker Classic can help you avoid this and make global corrections based on accurate information. Simply take a shot with the ColotChercker captured under the same lighting as your images. This will provide a reference, allowing you to analyze how changes will affect the rest of your colours prior to applying them.
