Celestron T-Adapter for Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope

This sturdy aluminium T-Adapter is ideal for Digiscoping with an SLR or DSLR camera body attached to a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope for prime-focus photography.

How to install

This T-Adapter requires either the Celestron T-Ring for Nikon Camera or Celestron T-Ring for Canon EOS-EF Mount Camera to be attached to your camera. Then remove the diagonal and visual back from the rear cell of your telescope. Screw the Schmidt-Cassegrain T-Adapter onto the rear cell threads and thread the T-Ring and camera onto the T-Adapter. Then you’re all ready to start using your telescope as a telephoto lens.

FAQs

Which telescope and scope is this adapter compatible with?

This T-Adapter is made to fit the thread of Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes ranging from 5, 6, 8, 9.25, 11 & 14 inches. To see our other T-Adapters click here.

How much magnification will this provide?

The magnification of the image will depend on the telescope’s focal length. For example, the 8” SCT at prime focus will act as a 2000mm lens – and no, that’s not a typo!

Why do I need a T-Ring too?

The T-Adapter is the mechanism that goes into the telescope, it requires a T-Ring to attach to a camera. The T-Ring is specific to the camera make, the T-Adapter is specific to the scope or telescope.

Can I use this to do long exposure photography?

If you are looking at doing some long-exposure photography and getting those beautiful star streaks we suggest using a separate guidescope or off-axis guider with an equatorial mount
