The Leica Super-APO-Summicron-SL 21mm f2 ASPH Lens is a high-performance ultra-wide-angle lens designed for Leica SL mirrorless cameras. The 21mm lens utilises an APO lens and Dual Synchro Drive to capture images and videos with optical excellence.
Ultra-wide angle
The wide field of view ensures impressive perspectives and detailed shots with a 21mm focal range that easily captures entire scenes. This allows the flexibility for landscape, architecture, and studio photography as well as reportage and event videography.
First ever 21mm APO lens
Unlike more common lens designs, this 21mm APO (Apochromatic) lens has a better correction of chromatic and spherical aberration, significantly improving the overall quality of the image produced, from improved colour contrast to better image sharpness.
The APO lens combines with Leica technology to effortlessly replicate natural skin tones, enchanting bokeh transitions, exceptional contrast in details, and sharpness throughout the frame.
Fast and Quiet AF
Leica is well known for its impressive fast and quiet autofocus systems. The 21mm lens is no different. The stepping motor autofocus system is fast and reliable, ensuring your photography is free from lag and your equipment is moving as fast as you are. The near-silent autofocus is unobtrusive and precise, working harmoniously with the Leica S, SL2 or SL2-S, as well as any other camera with an L-Mount bayonet.
Bright f/2.0 aperture
The bright and fast aperture of this f/2.0 lens allows you to shoot in low light with a high shutter speed and lower ISO (light sensitivity), translating to better pictures with less noise and less blur.
21cm close focus distance
A short minimum focus distance of 0.21m lets you get closer to subjects when needed.
