Hands-On Canon Exhibition At Eastington Park - 20/07/2017

On July 20th we are hosting a unique experience with Canon UK. You will have 3 sessions to get hands-on access to the esteamed Canon EOS 5D IV, 77D and the 1Dx II. With support from photographers David Newton, Oliver Wright, Simeon Quarrie and Canon ambassadors.

This will all take place at the beautiful Eastington Park in Gloucestershire, which is host to 8 acres of gardens with views across the Cotswold countryside and impressive ballrooms and a feature staircase.

The event will also be supported by Broncolor, Gitzo, Manfrotto and Lexar Professional Memory.   Giving you the opportunity to find out more about their product line up and how it could benefit your photography.

All this is available for just £25 with spaces limited to 60 people.

You will receive a FREE Lexar 32GB 1000x Pro SDHC UHS-II worth £45 when you arrive at the event!

Event Itinerary

  • 8:45am - 9:15am - Time of Arrival
    Teas and Coffees on arrival.

    9:15am - 9:30am - Welcome and Introduction to the Canon EOS 5D MK IV
     Welcome by host. Introduction to the Canon ambassadors and photographers, David Newton, Oliver Wright and Simeon Quarrie. Overview of the EOS 5D MK IV and its main features.

    9:30am - 11:00am - 1st Hands-on Session
    You will be allocated your group for the day and be taken by the ambassadors to start your first hands-on session:
    Group 1 - Studio Shoot with David Newton 
    Group 2 - Birds of Prey & Wildlife Photography with Oliver Wright
    Group 3 - Ballerina Video Shoot with Simeon Quarrie
  • 11:00am - 11:30am - Tea Break
    Reconvene in the house for tea, coffee and pastries.

    11:30am - 1:00pm - 2nd Hands-on session
    Your allocated group will be taken by the ambassadors to start your second hands-on session:

    Group 2 - Studio Shoot with David Newton

     Reconvene in the house for a finger buffet lunch.

    3:30pm – 4:30pm – Afternoon Tea with Q&A Session
    Although you will be able to ask the ambassadors questions during the sessions and breaks, we have dedicated a Q&A session for any outstanding questions you have from your experience through out the day.

  • Meet Simeon Quarrie

    Simeon is one of the UK’s most aspiring photographers and cinematographers, well loved for his true approach to creativity and storytelling. His work has taken him around the world, from city landscapes of New York and Dubai, to the tropical climates of Tanzania, not forgetting his travels through the depths of India.

    With his passion firmly grounded for wedding photography and video production, Simeon has also become famous for his unique pre-wedding photo shoots. He is a prolific educator with an infectious enthusiasm that sees his work featured on some of the industries largest blogs, as well as being selected to work directly alongside the likes of Canon, Profoto and Manfrotto

    It doesn’t stop there. Simeon is one of just a few professionals who has successfully transcended across genres. He now also delivers creative for some of the biggest brands in the world, including Unilever, Barclays, Mars and GE.

  • Meet David Newton

    Professional photographer / videographer David Newton is a world travelling content creator and educator with a particular speciality in the subtleties of the Canon system.

    The former technical editor of EOS Magazine and Canon Professional Network (CPN) he has experience shooting stills and video with everything in the Canon range from CSC to C-Series.

    Unlike most other educators who aim to show you how they shoot, Dave will ensure you know how to get the best out of the kit you have, whether it’s a camera, lens of Speedlite so you can make it work in any situation

  • Meet Oliver Wright

    Oliver Wright is a professional photography who splits his time between the UK and also in the very Northern parts of Sweden 250km North of the Arctic Circle. In the UK he photographs a lot of wildlife and macro subjects and then in the Winter whilst in Sweden focuses on the Arctic landscapes, wildlife and the aurora. He has images in the British Wildlife Photography awards for the last 5 years.

  • Ballerina's from Sophie Adams Ballet Co

    Sophie Adams, ballerina, choreographer and pioneer in creating 'ballerinas for events'.  Sophie is experienced in directing events for clients such as Dolce & Gabbana and Jo Malone and producing shows at venues such as Kensington Palace and the V&A.  Sophie has produced bespoke ballet performances for events, campaigns and live productions.

    Sophie trained at Central school of ballet in London, performing with The Bolshoi and The Kirov before launching Sophie Adams Ballet Company. 

    Founded in 2013 Sophie Adams Ballet Company supplies only the highest quality ballerinas, models and ballet choreographers to London's creative industry.

  • Falconry with Ben Long

    Ben Long has been professionally involved in the sport for over 35 years, both as a falconer and also as a renowned maker of falconry equipment (known as "furniture"). He is also involved in training Pointer dogs for falconry and field trials.

    Ben is based at Hardwicke near Gloucester, where he is director of The Falconry School, which chiefly provides tuition for those wishing to take up the sport, or existing falconers who want to further their knowledge. The Falconry school also hold Experience Days for visitors who want a fun falconry day, corporate entertainment, avian pest deterrent services and, of course, displays.

    On the day, Ben will be displaying his beautiful birds and you'll have the chance to use the Canon cameras on offer to capture that perfect image.

Steampunk Portraits

Steampunk is a genre of science fiction that has a historical setting and typically features steam-powered machinery rather than advanced technology. In photography, Steampunk offers a style of design and fashion that combines historical elements with anachronistic technological features inspired by science fiction.

Here are some great examples of Steampunk portrait photography.

  • Venue - Eastington Park, Gloucestershire

    Eastington Park was built in 1815 by a local clothier and mill owner called Henry Hicks. Mr Hicks purchased the estate in 1806 from the Stephens Family, after the original building, Eastington Manor, was demolished in 1778.

    This venue offers an idyllic tree lined driveway and 8 acres of beautiful gardens, with views across the Cotswold countryside, for you to photograph.

    Eastington Park is very conveniently located less than 5 minutes from Junction 13 of the M5. Take the A419 to Stroud. Take the 3rd exit at the Starbucks and Shell petrol station roundabout signed posted to Eastington. The entrance to the property is on your left shortly after you cross the canal and approximately 200 yards from the roundabout.

  1. Entrance to the event is restricted to sixty customers, each of which must have purchased a ticket here before the 18th of July 2017.

  2. If you are unable to attend the event, please notify us by sending an email to olivia@cliftoncameras.co.uk to cancel your place. We will issue a refund for as long as we receive 7-days notice prior to the event date.

  3. The event is designed, to enable you to see the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera. You will be able to discuss the camera with Canon Ambassadors & Clifton Cameras Ltd. 

  4. The following activities will be put on throughout the day, to give you the chance to use the Canon EOS 5D Mark IV camera to the best of its ability: Falconry, Ballerina Video Shoot, Steampunk model in a studio set up.

  5. The event will also give you access to representatives from Manfrotto, Gitzo, Lee Filters & Elinchrom.

  6. All people attending the day will receive a FREE Professional Memory Card, worth up to £50.00 to record images on of your day.

  7. You will also receive a number of special offers, exclusive to attendees, from other manufactures at the event.

  8. Tickets and entry to Eastington Park are valid for Thursday 20th July, 2017 only.

  10. You are welcome to bring your own photographic equipment to this event. Equipment insurance is not included, but is recommended as Clifton Cameras can not accept any liability for loss or damage to your equipment.
