20 Megapixel Stacked BSI Live MOS Sensor
The OM-1 features a new 20MP Stacked BSI Live MOS sensor along with the most recent TruePic X image processor. This pairing produces images beyond the expectations of the micro four-thirds sensor size. New noise processing technology takes the maximum normal sensitivity to ISO 25600 and the expanded maximum sensitivity to ISO 102400, making the OM-1 capable of delivering crystal clear images in incredibly low light situations.
High-performance Image Stabilisation
The body alone offers up to 7-stops of image stabilisation. Pair this with the 5-axis sync IS and you can get up to a staggering 8-stops of IS. The OM-1 also features a new Handheld Assist feature that makes it possible to capture slow shutter speed effects that would have typically required a tripod.
Computational photography has traditionally required special equipment and a computer to composite images, with the OM System OM-1, these features are now possible within the camera itself. The OM-1 uses a combination of a new image sensor, processor and the latest digital technologies to bring limitless creativity to the OM-1 photographer.
With 1,053, all cross-type phase-detection points, the OM-1 features a quad-division photodiode that allows for ‘on-chip phase detection’ in both vertical and horizontal directions. A world’s first, the OM-1 features a Cross Quad Pixel AF that focuses on various patterns of subjects across all pixels in the shooting range, producing a high-speed and high-precision AF on your subject, no matter where it appears in your frame.
AI Detection AF
The newly developed AI Detection AF, allows the OM-1 to instantly recognise and track formula cars, motorcycles, planes, helicopters, trains and birds, as well as animals such as dogs and cats. The already superb Face Priority/EyePriority AF have also been significantly improved.
The Electronic Viewfinder (EVF) on the OM System OM-1 has a 5.76 million dot resolution and a magnification of up to 1.65x. Reach up to 50fps blackout-free AF/AE tracking or 120fps blackout-free AF/AE locked.
Industry-leading image stabilisation allows hybrid shooters and filmmakers to shoot stable handheld video up to 4K in 60p and capture a maximum of 240p at Full HD. The OM-1 supports H.264 (8bit), H.265 (10bit) and also features a Multi-Frame Rate for recording video over 30minutes.
The OM-1 also supports OM-Log for greater creativity in post-production. New Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) has also been added to the OM01 for much easier HDR video recording.
The Ultimate in Portability
Compact and lightweight and now featuring IP53 dustproof and splashproof protection, the OM-1 is the ultimate ‘go anywhere’ bit of kit for even the most adventurous photographer. Freezeproof down to as low as -10ºC, you really can take the OM-1 with you to even the most punishing environments.
The lens mount makes the OM-1 compatible with all standard and PRO Olympus Zuiko lenses. Launched alongside the OM-1 was the OM System 12-40mm Mark II Pro Lens and the OM System 40-150mm Pro Lens.

What shooting modes does the OM System OM-1 have?
High Res Shot - Shoot 50MP handheld high-resolution images or add a tripod and shoot up to 80MP images.
Live ND - Shoot super slow shutter speed effects with the built-in Live ND filters. Experience ND filters from ND2 to ND64 and check your slow shutter settings in the viewfinder or the LCD monitor before shooting. Ideal for shooting with wide-angle lenses that don’t always accommodate an ND filter.
Focus Stacking - Amend the focus to capture multiple shots for images that in full focus form the foreground to the background.
HDR Shooting - Capture multiple images at different exposures and merge them to create one final image with a super-wide dynamic range that includes both highlights and shadows. Allowing you to capture images just as you see them with your eye.
