Panasonic LUMIX S5 II X | For Pro-Videographers

Panasonic recently released the LUMIX S5 II X. What makes this LUMIX Panasonic the choice for pro-videographers? Pat tells all in this video!

What are some of the key features of the Panasonic LUMIX S5 II X?

The Panasonic LUMIX S5 II X shares many of the same features as the S5 II such as a Hybrid Phase Detection AF system, enhanced Active I.S. and a newly developed 24-megapixel full-frame CMOS sensor. Other features include 30fps stills shooting with AFS/AFC, high-speed 4K/C4K 60P 4:2:2 10-bit, unlimited recording, a new hidden fan design, real-time LUT and a high resolution 3,680k OLED LVF offering incredible performance for both photo and video capture.

What’s the difference between the LUMIX S5 II and the LUMIX S5 II X?

The S5 II X features an all-mono, black colour body, blacked-out 'Lumix' branding and no red accents on the control dials for a more discreet look.

As far as the camera's capabilities are concerned, the S5 II X can record 5.8K Apple ProRes to SSD via HDMI or USB, and ALL-Intra Recording. The S5 IIX can also support Apple ProRes RAW video output to Atomos, wired* and wireless IP streaming and USB tethering as well as recording Apple ProRes 422 HQ in HD internally.

The S5 II has no RAW video recording option but will have an optional upgrade to add RAW video output in the future.

All other features are the same on both models.

* Requires USB-LAN adapter, sold separately.
